Guests can enjoy walking-distance access to some of the Springs’ best food, local shops, and local, craft drink—specifically the block surrounding the intersection of Tejon and Boulder Streets, just a few hundred yards from this home. The spot abounds with exceptional joints—some of our favorites include the Wild Goose Meeting House, Rico’s, Poor Richards, the Colorado Co-op, Odyssey Gastropub, Brooklyn’s, Tony’s, Supernova and many, many more.

The Space

Attention to detail and simple, classic charm abound in this home. The layout is perfect for a couple or small group of travelers, offering a full, private bedroom upstairs with a queen-sized bed adjacent to a private bath featuring a classic claw-foot bathtub. There’s also a pull-out couch in the living room for additional guests, who will enjoy a second full bath on the first floor next to the kitchen and laundry. Although cozy, this place is designed so well it feels like a much larger home.

The kitchen is fully functional and appointed and features a small dining room table as well as an appealing little writer’s desk looking out to the private backyard, for guests wishing, perhaps, to do a little writing or reading during their stay. This home features hardwood floors, tile counters, subway tile in the baths, and classic, timeless charm throughout.

An item of note for guests new to dry, western climates. This home features an evaporative (swamp) cooler for warm Colorado summer days. Swamp coolers operate by way of evaporation, and are a bit different from traditional air-conditioning. They work best when a few of the windows in the house (upstairs and down) are left open a couple of inches, to allow air to circulate.

The Neighborhood

Located just a few blocks northeast of downtown, this area is “mixed” and in the process of gentrifying a bit. Many of the homes in the neighborhood are being renovated. Enjoy tree lined streets, quiet and parks too. Colorado College, the Springs’ own private, liberal arts educational extravagaza is just a few blocks west of this location too. Some of the main sites for visitors, including Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, the Broadmoor, are all about 10 minutes away by car.

Getting Around

This home is absolutely within walking distance to some GREAT food, drink, shops and nightlife. However, many of the main sites in Colorado Springs are somewhat spread-out, and we recommend having a vehicle during your stay. There is plenty of parking on the street in front of the house. Bikes, Uber and Lyft are always helpful too!
